About Mark

My Story

I'm Mark Cox, and I've spent over 30 years as a software engineer and architect building real technology with Python, Java, and C++. But somewhere along the way, I realized my greatest impact comes from helping students understand difficult concepts in Calculus, Algebra, Data Structures, and Machine Learning—not just solve problems.

What I Bring

I'm Vanderbilt certified in Generative AI, I have Master's degrees in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, and I'm a father who's passionate about STEM education. With 20+ years teaching Calculus, Python programming, Competition Math (AMC/AIME), Java, C++, and Machine Learning, that combination means I bring real-world software engineering expertise, patience, and genuine care to every student I work with—whether you're tackling AP Calculus, learning Data Structures, debugging code, or preparing for math competitions.

How I Work

I don't believe in shortcuts or memorization. I believe in clarity—breaking down complex Calculus problems, Python algorithms, Java concepts, and Machine Learning models until they make sense. When a student goes from confused to confident in Algebra, Data Structures, or coding, that's what drives me. Whether you're struggling with AP Calculus AB/BC, learning Python for the first time, preparing for AMC/AIME competitions, or exploring AI and Machine Learning, I'm here to help you build the understanding and confidence that lasts.
